how it all began

The ladies of Lathered Essentials want to live in a world where if you HAVE to clean, you should do so with safe products.  We’re talking floor licking, teeth brushing, throw away those under the sink locks safe.

Lathered Cleaning Company shut their doors to help flatten the curve in 2020.  With their business closed and 10 kids between them (all homeschooling), they had an abundance of time… Luckily Moms and entrepreneurs are like Mr. Hammer; too legit.  And while 2020 brought on so many challenges for so many people, it brought opportunity with it as well.  In this case, the opportunity to begin to market cleaning products that have been tried, tested, and kicking butts in homes across Alberta for years.

Kristin Verbeek and Meghan Peters established Lathered Cleaning Company in 2013.  They changed the cleaning industry standards with detailed systems and training and were joined by Lisa Hamilton (office manager AKA: Ninja of all things) who helped cross the T’s and amped up the entire client experience.  Lathered has grown from being a single team, to having multiple franchise locations across Alberta.  Their ultimate goal is to find likeminded, ambitious entrepreneurs throughout Canada to expand their franchisee family.

Jennifer Cote’s dream came to life with J.Co Organics in 2016.  With 9 years of skin care expertise, she checked all the boxes and developed a highly effective, organic and environmentally friendly skin care line. She believes in health as a whole.  To Jennifer, health includes what you eat, how you stay active and what you put in and ON your body.

In early April of 2020, these 4 women saw the potential in teaming up to bring to market an all-natural product line.  With the perfect powerhouse team, Lathered Essentials went from concept to concrete literally overnight.  It began with a hand cleanser that was strong enough to kill even Mr C-19, all while being gentle on the hands and not smelling like the tequila we drank in our early 20’s (it’s even approved by Health Canada! NPN: 80098301). 

They have since brought in their magical, all-purpose cleaner that works on every surface in your home and a toilet bowl cleaner thoughtfully named ‘The Sh*t Disturber’ (you could actually use it to brush your teeth… I mean, it might be weird so maybe don’t….but you could!).
